Batty Bertha

I have learned more about the figures I am basing these drawings on. They were a Frito Lay give away found in bags of chips. Wow, they should bring that back. How fun is that?

As near as I have found, this is the full set. I only own five of them.

More to come!

Cool Ghoul (Reaper)

I drew this Sunday. I was in my storage and found the figure pictured. I only have a few of these, but I plan to draw each one. The reaper was always my favorite as a kid, so I started with him. These figures were produced by Multi Products in the 1960s. I was not alive then, but boy do I love the monster figures from then and all the way into the 90s.

Making the most of Summer

This is my Mr. Halloween persona. Summer is a rough time of year for me. I am allergic to a lot of stuff and the heat is not for me. I do love a good swim though.

A Ghostly Grip

For a long time, my creative energy has been rather low. I am trying to get back to my old creative self, but it takes time I guess. Hopefully I can break free of the chilling grip of sorrow and once more make monsters. If you suffer from emotional issues like me, know you are not alone.

Happy Haunting,

Nosferatu

I sold this painting recently. Letting go of the things we love isn't easy. People are even harder. The people I have lost in the past few years and those that have simply phased out of my life have been numerous. It is very hard to handle, but we must find a way. This painting went to a couple who's young daughter loves all things horror and Halloween. I hear it is bringing her much joy and that makes letting go a little easier.

Spooky Fun

I teach painting classes on the weekend and this month we raised money for bat conservation. I got to paint a simple but a beloved subject.

Halloween Spirit

What do you do to get into the spirit?
